WAYS TO RELAX

1. Hot, hot bath in a quiet,dimly-light bathroom
2. Beethoven's sonatas 5, 8 and 21, on repeat if need be
3. Lying down for ten minutes, eyes closed, and listening to yourself breathe
4. Photos like these
5. Driving the long way home
6. The smell of your two-year-old child, and his hands reaching out for you
7. Lying in bed listening to your universe breathing in bed next to you and in the next room
